My Sweet Sweet Savannah

Savannah's class had an auction yesterday with the "school bucks" that they had earned. Instead of spending her money on stuff just for her she bought a necklace for me! I have an obsession with Flip Flops. She was so excited to show it to me and to give it to me. How blessed I am to have such a sweet girl!

Our New Look!

Savannah helped me choose a new background for our blog. We still love the old one, but were ready for a change. We tried several, but kept going back to this one. There was one that I loved that Savannah didn't approve, so we moved on. It's like shopping for clothes. You need that second opinion. So, we set to work choosing new colors to match our new look. I couldn't seem to stay away from brown. I've noticed that in my shopping lately too. Hope you enjoy the new look as much as we do!

Mystery Solved!

"Get it" That's what "ga-gah" means! We noticed through Willson's increasing use of the word that he was pointing at several different things. That's why we could never figure out what it was. We decided that it was a word that he made up for anything he wanted. But then someone said "get it" and we heard Willson say "ga-gah" I had an A-ha moment and was thankful that I am able to once again understand my 15 month old. For today anyway.

Ga-gah please

Willson has a new word. Ga-gah. I have no idea what he's talking about, but he's been saying it to me for 2 days now with increasing frustration. Sometimes it's even whimpered. I have walked around the house, with him, trying to locate ga-gah, but to no avail. At first I thought it was cracker, but that is gaa-ga and that made him really angry when I assumed that was what he was saying. Apparently ga-gah is more important then a mere gaa-ga. I was on the phone with my mom, telling her about it and the kids started crowing ga-gah ga-gah. Yeah Willson wasn't impressed or pleased. If anyone out there knows what ga-gah is PLEASE let me know. Until then the search for the elusive ga-gah continues.

Laney's Style

Delaney's fashion choices still amaze me, no matter how many times she puts together these hideous outfits. This ensemble includes a brown and orange velvet shirt with sage green sheer ruffles with an aqua and green flowered shirt on top. Notice the PINK embroidered flowers on her jeans. I guess she saw the whole flowered thing and thought they matched. I just laughed when I saw her and told her how beautiful she looked. Since it was Sunday and we'd already gone to church, she actually got to keep this outfit on.

Milk!

Savannah asked for a little bit of milk and this is what Andy gave her. In order to drink it she had to stand on her chair and lean over the table to sip from it. It was so funny. The kids were so excited. Savannah didn't want to drink it (she was too scared of spilling). I got her to attempt it by promising I would blog about it. Everyone has a price.

25 Random Things About Me

I thought I'd post this for the Non-Facebook-ers. This is something that went around Facebook and it was really fun to read every ones and to make my own list. Enjoy!
1.I used to be a dog person, but now I think I'm a cat person. Shhh, don't tell!
2.My oldest son drives me crazy because he's so much like me.
3.I wish I made my bed everyday. That's a goal of mine.
4.We go to the Library every Saturday and I pick my books out of the Teen section.
5.Everything in my dishwasher has a spot. (my plates, glasses, pots, forks, etc. always go in the same place)
6.I love color. I painted my kitchen plum.
7.I live in WA and I hate rain.
8.My curtains in my room are actually fabric shower curtains hung on a drapery rod, but you'd never know by looking at them.
9.I wish that instead of ditching so many college classes and quitting after I got married that I would have just gone and had a degree now.
10.I want to be an Interior Designer.
11.I could read ALL day long.
12.I thought it was hilarious when my 1 year old said "oh, crap"
13.I asked Andy what was random about me and he said "You married me"
14.My 2 best friends in college were guys.
15.When Andy's out of town I let Delaney sleep in my bed because she'll cuddle with me.
16.I have to sleep on the side of the bed farthest from the door because then the "bad guys" would get to Andy first.
17.When I moved out of my parents house I didn't talk to them for 2 weeks and only then because I felt guilty. I love them, but I don't "need" them like some people do.
18.I joined Facebook.
19.I'm a scrapbooker, but I haven't scrapbooked once in the last year. Poor Willson doesn't have an album.
20.I have a blog and I actually have something to write almost every day.
21.The best part of moving is hanging the pictures.
22.I love Vampire novels, not just the Twilight series. I know, so weird.
23.I turn instructions to my kids into a song and they sing their responses back to me.
24.The first time I went to the Temple I was so sick and almost passed out.
25.I never dust.
Number 19 has changed since I made the list. Willson is now 1 month old in his album and soon to be older. I've got pictures ready to pick up at Walmart.

Thanks Eryn

So, I was hanging out with my friend Eryn today and she fed me lunch. She warmed up leftovers. Her leftovers included a Greek Burger, Cabbage roll and something that I can't remember the name of but loved. They were soooo tasty! I came home and bragged to Andy about it, via email. I told him that I needed to go make my lame Quiche, which up until 4 hours before, I thought was wonderful. Now, I enjoy cooking, but mine is NOTHING compared to Eryn's. So, the moral of the story is, if your friend is an amazing cook, don't eat at her house.

Toothless Wonder

Mason lost his 2nd front tooth! We're enjoying his altered speech. Savannah lost one at a time, so we haven't experienced this before. Very fun!

Against my better judgement, I took a nap yesterday after church. We have the 11-2 schedule, so I woke up from the nap at about 5:30. Because of that I didn't get to bed till about 2:30 last night. At 4:45, I found Mason on the couch trying to watch cartoons. He didn't know it was the middle of the night. I showed him the clock on the microwave and told him if the first number wasn't a 7 or 8 he needed to go back to bed. So, I sent him to bed, crawled back into bed and then found him trying to take a shower at 5:30. When I went to send him to bed again, he told me "I just don't know how to tell time that's the problem." So he went back to bed and I crawled into bed too. Needless to say I was very tired this morning and all day today. No more Sunday afternoon naps for me.

I was going to blog about Willson's new "trick". Baby boy LOVES to sing. For a while now he will join us when we sing "Won't Go Home Without You" (Maroon 5) and just recently he's started singing "Stars Go Blue" (Tim McGraw). He joins in with the "whoas" and the "oohs". Since playing Guitar Hero at Aunt Michelle's house, Delaney had been obsessed with the song "Slow Ride". She walks around the house singing "Slow ride, dododo, take it easy, dododo". Well yesterday Willson started singing it. It was so cute! He says "Doe ride, dododo". (Check out playlist below to hear the songs) Look how sweet these two look together...
Willson doesn't realize he's smaller than everyone, because he certainly likes to push Laney around. He sits there and waits till I'm not looking and then he whacks her. I was taking pictures of them being so cute together on the chair and he hauls off and does this. I don't know what he's thinking sometimes.

Delaney picked out her own outfit yesterday. It was so funny when she came out of her room. She loves to layer. I guess she thought since they were all stripes, that they matched. When I sent her back to change she was very disappointed. If we were just staying home I wouldn't have cared, but we actually had to run errands.

My Uniform

I hate to admit this, but I have a uniform. My uniform consists of navy blue sweat pants and Andy's fleece pullover, either color. When I don't have time to shower before taking the kids to school, which happens more then I care to admit, I pull out my trusty sweat pants and we're off to school. Since I don't have to get out of the car this outfit works. Technically I could wear my pajamas and still be fine. I did try that once, I had the stomach flu that day. Of course that was the day that my new neighbor decided to come over and introduce herself, right as I got out of the car. Luckily I had changed out of my nightgown and into a pink fleece snowflake pajama set, thinking that was more appropriate. I did explain I was sick, but still, that experience has cured me of wanting to wear my pajamas to take the kids to school. When it's almost time to go, I say "Oh, I better go put on my uniform." and the kids all laugh. The last couple of days, in a row, I've managed to get my shower in before taking the kids, so I've been fully dressed and ready for the day, which feels sooo good. So, as I was checking my email this morning, Savannah came up to me and said "I wish you would wear your uniform." Apparently she gets a kick out of it too. Delaney just informed me that she's wearing her uniform. Her uniform is actually pajamas with whatever jacket she wants and whichever shoes she can actually find that morning, sometimes barefoot. Guess she takes after me!

Sign Guy

I have to say this is kinda weird, but the highlight of our Saturday trips to the Library is our local sign spinner guy. He is hilarious! I have never seen one rock out like our guy does. He uses his sign as a guitar and "plays" it so much that he's worn the color off where he strums. He dances and jumps and rocks out. The kids love watching him and I've come to look forward to seeing Sign Guy. He wasn't out last week. The kids were speculating as to why he wasn't there. They decided he was "cough sick". It was cute they felt bad for him and hoped he would feel better.I was just disappointed he wasn't there. I guess I just enjoy watching someone who can be so free with himself. When we first started seeing him I was embarrassed for him, now I just love watching him. Maybe we should all take a cue from Sign Guy and not be so nervous about what other people are going to think of us and just go with what we feel. If we feel inspired by music, dance!
