Bed

This morning Delaney informed me that when she's a teenager she's going to steal my bed. She got an oh really out of me. Then she told me that I'm still going to sleep in it though, with her. So I asked her if we were going to make Daddy sleep in the guest room. She thought about it for a minute and then decided that was a good idea. She said that the guest room would be Daddy's room and the master bedroom would be "our" (meaning her & me) room. We laughed about that and then she told me
"We'll discuss it with Daddy when he gets home."

New House Confessions

I absolutely love and adore my new house.
I could not be happier with it.
I have made some discoveries though.
House twice as big = Twice as much space to play
Twice as much space to play = Twice as much to clean
Twice as much to clean = Tired Mama
That being said, my final
"1st time seeing the house" cleaning
will be done on Tuesday, August 25th.
I am hosting a baby shower that night.
If you would like to see my house, please come by.
Otherwise you will get to see it in all it's 4 kidded glory.

Mason

My Mason.
I can't believe my first baby boy is 7 years old today!
It seems like just yesterday he was telling me he
"need food, ca Mason hungee".
He's the craziest kid you will ever meet
and I couldn't love him more.
He's brought me to tears, of joy and frustration,
more times than I can count.
Our family would not be complete without him.
Happy Birthday my (not so) little man.
I love you!

Blog ADD

I think I have Blog ADD .
(be careful when you type that, btw)
I am constantly changing my backgrounds.
I will fall in love with one
and then a week later I'm sick of it
and 10 minutes after that I've got a new one.
Is there something wrong with me?
Why can't I commit to a background?
Is there that ONE perfect background out there?
The one that just says *Melissa*
in flashy, glittery lights
And if so, how can I find it?
Let me know.

I love you

The other night Delaney crawled into bed with Me and Andy just as we were going to bed. After fighting over who got to cuddle with her, I took a turn then passed her to Andy. I rolled over and semi-cuddled with the two of them. I put my hand on Andy's forearm and said "I love you" and this little Delaney voice whispered "I love you too" while Andy snored on.

Sneakers

Yesterday we stopped on a whim at the Stride Rite Outlet to buy the kids shoes for school. We were on our way to our monthly Winco trip when I realized we wouldn't be going out there again before school started. As we were driving through the parking lot we realized that we didn't have a stroller for Willson, we needed all the trunk space for the groceries. I almost called off the whole shopping thing, when my inner cheapskate said "Kim said they were having a sale. You don't want to have to drive all this way again." I listened to the voice and proceeded. We walked into the store at 10 am, right as they unlocked the doors. Savannah followed Willson around, making sure he wasn't destroying the store, I took Mason and we found shoes for him. Savannah was relieved of duty, Mason took over, Savannah carried the picked out shoes and started looking for herself and I took Delaney and found her shoes. Delaney took over box duty while Savannah and I found her shoes. We got 3 pairs of sneakers, baby sans stroller and we were driving out of the parking lot at 10:30. Oh, and everyone was still happy, including me. I was pretty impressed. That's never happened before. So, here's what we got...
Savannah got her 1st pair of running shoes.
If they had these in my size, I would so buy them for me.Mason's

Dishes

Look at my cute boy doing the dishes without a shirt.
Such a man's man. This was his first attempt at doing dishes.
He did an amazing job at scrubbing and rinsing them.
I was totally shocked!

Blog-hog

It's been quite a while since Savannah has posted anything on her blog. We were commenting on that last night at dinner. Someone did something funny, no surprise there, and Savannah immediately called blogging rights on the funny. I was told that in no way, shape or form was I allowed to blog about it. The funny thing is I can't remember what was funny, I guess that's good or I might be tempted to steal it. Hopefully Savannah remembers. So, back to the story. After being banned from the funny, I was told that I am a Blog-hog. Yes, Savannah Steed coined that phrase. Apparently I steal all the good stories, so Savannah has nothing to blog about.
To the Blog-hog name calling I immediately replied...
"I'm going to blog about that!"

Butter

My son loves butter.
If he can get his hands on the butter dish,
he will just go at it with two hands.
The same goes for Ranch dressing too.
Last night I was pulling out a new
stick to put on the butter dish.
He saw me.
"butter, butter"
"Yes, that's butter."
"Bite it?"

It's a girl thing

Today Mason and Delaney were being TOO loud and crazy. After telling them to calm down or go outside SEVERAL times, I told them they were kicked out of the house. I sent them to the backyard and they did NOT take it well.
Delaney was so overcome by emotion she
could only sit on the steps and cry. Mason took to sobbing in the chair It was one of the funniest things I ever saw.
I was laughing so hard.
Delaney yelled at me
"Why did you do this to us?"
That only made me laugh harder.
It was working on Delaney.
She was trying so hard not to laugh and stay mad at me.
She had to walk to other side of the yard to stay upset.
Now, unfortunately my laughing made Mason angry.
So, I grabbed Willson and we both came outside to play.
Both immediately perked up.
The kids were running in the grass with their arms out like airplanes,
when Delaney accidentally ran into Willson
and knocked him down.
He was totally fine and no one was upset except Delaney.
She burst into tears,
I started laughing and telling her that it was okay,
everyone was fine, no harm done.
She had her hands covering her face and sobbed
"Oh, why am I crying?"
I scooped her up in my arms, laughed and said
"Cause you're a girl"

What Moving Means to Kids

I didn't get a chance to post this before we moved. This was just last week, the night before the move. My kids make me laugh.

Downstairs #2

My mom called and we went over the floor plan.
So, I'm posting these for her.
When Delaney saw what I was doing I told her it was for Grandma. Her response was
"Well, she can just come to Washington to see it."
Hope this helps Mom.
(my kitchen is not clean, but at least the dishes are done
and the ugly air conditioner is temporary)

Our New House!

So, here are pictures of our new house. I'm going to start with the downstairs today. If I can get the kids to clean their rooms I'll post the upstairs tomorrow. Now there's going to be a lot of photos. I did this for my mom. She's just like me when it comes to houses. I'd draw her a floor plan if I could. The reason for the multiple photos is so that she can put the floor plan together in her mind.
So, here they are...
This is our backyard. It's nice and big!
It's hard to tell, but this is a really nice garden area with a bench.
Family Room
I've still got a few boxes in there to unpack.
I guess this is technically an eating area, but we're using it for a homework station, far away from the TV.
Dining Room

Living Room
(I still need to get my curtains up)

Guest Bathroom
Laundry Room. The house came with these. Love them.
So, you may have noticed that there is not a picture of the kitchen. That's 'cause I didn't do my dishes yet and I thought I had a "before" shot. (I took pictures the day we moved in, before our stuff, but we didn't get the computer hooked up in time to post those) So, you can kind of see it in the background, so just use your imagination!
But, picture it clean.

What's that?

Hey, what's that?
Oh yeah, that's my car in my garage.
Yeah, I have a garage now.
Am I so lame to be excited about that? We're mostly unpacked now, so I'll be posting pictures within the next couple of days.
